Held each October, Campus Sustainability Month is an international celebration of sustainability in higher education. Throughout the month, colleges and universities organize events to raise the visibility of campus sustainability and provide campus sustainability advocates with a platform to deepen campus engagement around sustainability.

Monday 10/24: Campus Sustainability Celebration and Green Networking Event

Hosted by the Office of Campus Sustainability.

Kick-off Georgia Tech's Campus Sustainability Week Celebration with the Office of Campus Sustainability (OCS). Join us Monday, Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the atrium of The Kendeda Building and enjoy complimentary vegan and vegetarian snacks and drinks. Plus, you can mingle with the newest members of the OCS team, and learn more about Georgia Tech’s campus sustainability programs and week of events.

Tuesday 10/25: The 7th Annual Sustainable Facilities Forum: Georgia Tech Sustainability - Today and Tomorrow

Join us for the Annual Sustainable Facilities Forum with keynote speaker Jennifer Chirico, Georgia Tech's new associate vice president of Sustainability for Infrastructure and Sustainability. Following the keynote, hear 30-minute presentations on sustainability topics from experts including:

Wednesday 10/26: Fall 2022 SGA Green Network Meeting 

Celebrate the excellent sustainability efforts of Georgia Tech student organizations at a networking event hosted by the Student Government Association. This unique opportunity will allow sustainability-focused student organizations to showcase their projects and goals, network and attract new members. The first half of the event will feature presentations from student organizations before transitioning to a social portion meant to foster collaboration (and fun)!

Thursday 10/27: Lunch and Learn Webinar: Georgia Tech Climate Action Plan

Grab your lunch and join the Georgia Tech Climate Action (virtual) webinar to learn how the Institute is taking action to reduce emissions and further sustainability at Tech. Brailsford & Dunlavey, the consulting team leading the climate action plan (CAP) effort with Georgia Tech, will give an overview of the CAP process and provide a space for the Georgia Tech community to share perspectives on how the Institute can reach its goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.

 

Thursday 10/27: City Cycling - Georgia Tech Community Class

Get comfortable traveling by bike with this instructional group ride! This in-person class is offered by Parking and Transportation Services in collaboration with Propel ATL and is designed specifically for members of the Georgia Tech community — that includes students, staff, and faculty! Friday 10/28“Zombie Apocalypse” Resiliency Event at Kendeda Building

Learn how to survive the zombie apocalypse in a Living Building Challenge certified building – where spooky meets sustainable!

Participants will be able to focus on the potential for resiliency through built and natural environments. Sessions include- canning, herbalist walkthrough (foraging/herbal tea making), and DIY green cleaning products.

Food will be provided. RSVP is required.
