Literary reading and Q&A with author Mark Oshiro

Popular non-binary Mexican American sci-fi/fantasy novelist Mark Oshiro is coming to campus on Tuesday, March 5. Their works, aimed at young-adult readers, are often queer/trans themed, or represent BIPOC children or teen characters struggling with their social identities, and as such, these books have faced book-banning efforts nationally. We will hold a literary reading by Mark, including audience Q&A from 10 a.m – noon; followed by a discussion panel featuring Mark and other experts on the K-12 book-banning debate, also with audience Q&A, from 2-4 p.m., both in the Scholars Event Network theater of the GT Library.
